Recently a wave came from name of Kay Beauty by Katrina. I dont want to go into controversies it created and whats my two cent on that.
Truely speaking these days many celebs go into their brand but yeah makeup very few and its not in collaboration its Katrina’s own brand. Packaging didnt attracted me enough but publicity and hype did. I tried to control myself for around a month but I finally gave up and ordered this beautiful shade “Melodrama”.
The shade “Melodrama” is from their brown family color range. I thought it to be more darker but its more like Brown with Mauve undertone. I am not a brown color fan, I feel brown lippy make me look dull. But this one as its not pure brown really looks so subtle on me. The shade outcome will matter alot on your lips pigmentation. As I have brown pigmented lips so on lips it looks more brown kind of, while in hand swatch it looks more Mauvish brown kind of.
When you apply it spreads like butter,so smooth and even application, within a minute or in few seconds it settle as powder matte. It feels so confortable on lips (i have super dry and chapped lips). It feels like You have applied liquid lipstick but comfort is of creamy lipstick. It doesnt transfer easily. Stay for good many hours, like most of the lipstick available in market this also cant survive heavy oily meal.
I am totally surprised by the result, I didnt thought it to be this good. I am definitely going to try more shades and more products from this brand. What about you? Have you tried Kay Beauty?
