Never ever I thought I will go so crazy for something that will be handmade. Here I bring one of my recent handmade product a Journal which I am planning to use as Junk Journal. This entire Journal is designed and made by me.
Why Handmade Journal-
In one simple line I can say, because I love them. There is something so mysterious and at same time so attracting towards any handmade items. As I am discovering more about handmade products especially related to Art and Crafts, fell totally in love with handmade journals. Best is you can choose whatever you want to.
For this particular journal my Aim was
- Size around A5 but a bit bigger and kind of square
- Colorful pages which has got texture and deckle edges
- Handmade papers (purchased one) they were in between A4 and A3 size I folded and hand deckle edged them
- Classic coptic stitch look
- Cover vintage, more customized
Supply List-
Handmade Paper- I got this years back (may be 5 years) from Itsy Bitsy
Hard Cover used is a box carton that was thick and sturdy
Thread- from Pradhan Embroidery and waxed them using organic Bees Wax
For cover design- Jute from Amazon, Sticker from a local store, Washi tape again from amazon, quilled rose handmade, vintage paper from Amazon
Stitching Method- I used Coptic Stitch, one of the best and easy tutorial is linked here

My Experience-
Truly speaking it did take lots of time to make this one. First folding the paper and then hand deckle edging them, literally my finger got so sore. These are thick handmade papers above 300 GSM so even stitching them was a bit of challenge with the needle I had with me. Cover design was again a bit time taking mostly from design point of view.
Problem with handmade products especially in these cases are you just dont know where to stop, after adding every bit I was struggling whether to end it here or go a bit more or keep it minimalist. May be I was very excited.
With lots of ♥️
